How To Make Money With Videos

Today, more people are watching video then television. More people are spending more time watching and posting videos then ever before.

How would you like to learn how to make money using YouTube? In this post I am going to go over three areas in which to leverage YouTube or any other visual media channel. The first is optimization, the second is value and then video aftermath. I will also give you some amazing stats in which you may or may not have heard previously.

Stat #1 – YouTube has approx. 55% of the market share of video on the web. Yes, it smokes Yahoo, Viddler, Vimeo, Metacafe and even Google. Well, Google. owns YouTube so I guess Google video. doesn’t count. You get the drift.

Stat #2 – An incredible 35 hours of YouTube clips are uploaded every single minute. (That is just ridiculous!)

Stat #3 – More than 13 million hours of clips are uploaded every year on YouTube. (Um…Excuse me?)

Stat #4 – YouTube has 3 billion views per day. (Hello.. There are only like 7 billion people on planet earth, that’s almost half of the people on earth saying, “I think I’ll check out a YouTube video today!”)

Stat #5 – The average visitor stays for 15 minutes. (Think about that for a moment.)

With all of that said. Do you think that you might have a captive audience for whatever it is you want to market to the world around you?

Video Optimization – The first step is doing keyword research. There is no sense in making a video that no one is looking for. The Google Keyword external tool is what I recommend. You want to use a keyword that has more than 3000 searches a month and no more than 100,000 searches a month. These keywords will make up the titles for your videos and be put in the description and tags of your video information.

Video Value – All together there are five things to put in your videos.

1. Keep your videos 2-3 minutes short.
2. Edit your videos, the more you edit the better.
3. Use music whenever possible in your videos. People connect with music.
4. Give them something cool to look at Remember the Hollywood 7 rule? It’s when you change frames every 7 seconds.
5. Be engaging.

There are several video essentials I would also like to touch on.

Intro Bumper – Go over what the video is about and why they should pay attention.

Content Delivery – You must deliver what you promised to deliver.

Call To Action – Make sure you tell them what to do next. Send them to your website, tell them to subscribe or “like” your video” and why they should click on your link (what value will they get?)

Video Aftermath – Add back links to your video and channel. A great place to find someone to place backlinks to your site is Fiverr dot com. I just paid $5 to get 600 links back to one of my videos and channel URL.

Most importantly, YouTube is a social network. Getting responses and comment threads going on your videos weighs heavily on your videos ranking within YouTube.
